Robots to build civilization.
Since antiquity, humans have invented tools and machines to advance civilization. From the first stone tools to the rocket engines that propelled us toward the stars, technology has enabled us to harness nature’s energy and expand the scale of human ambition.
To expand consciousness beyond Earth, we must undertake perilous spacefaring journeys and build new civilizations. Autonomous robots are essential to this endeavor.
Humans are uniquely capable, not simply because we’re intelligent, but because we can manipulate the physical world, make tools, and use them to make increasingly sophisticated machines. The Industrial Revolution was born from this very process: humans wielding tools to build machines that helped build even more powerful machines.
Darwin creates autonomous robots to build new civilizations. The next industrial revolution will come from machines that can themselves build machines. By bringing intelligence and dexterity into the physical world, robots will accelerate technological progress and expand what humanity can build beyond the limits of human labor.
A new era of industrial ambition is upon us: artificial intelligence. Around the world, an unprecedented buildout of data centers is underway to bring increasingly powerful AI systems online. Yet these vast computing facilities must still be assembled, commissioned, and maintained by skilled human hands. To sustain this pace of expansion, we need robots capable of performing this work. We are starting by building dexterous robot technicians for data centers.
This is only the beginning. To build new cities, expand industry, and eventually establish civilization beyond Earth, humanity will need more than its own hands.

“Man could not have attained his present dominant position in the world without the use of his hands.”
